The way we met was more of journey than a moment. We connected on long drives, serving in ministry, music, great conversation and awkward humor. Any opportunity we had to be around each other we would end up together having fun being in each others presence. After a well established friendship and both of us having feelings for each other with out the other knowing, Khalif on his way back to Charlotte realized that he did not have his travel bag with him. A friend agreed to meet Khalif half to retrieve his bag, and Aisha being a mutual friend of both came along. In that same very meet up is where we both expressed our feelings for each other, which grew into a love that cannot be broken!
It was our two year anniversary! In celebration of our two year anniversary we were going to take a trip to the beach. Unfortunately COVID-19 took those plans in another direction; we were still determined to have fun. We had a romantic picnic at lake Norman and ate chicken salad, cookies and played a competitive game of Uno. Near the end of our night we walked out onto the pier of the lake to watch the sunset. As we talked about life, our journey and the future ahead, it was the perfect moment. On one knee, Khalif asked Aisha to marry him and to spend the rest of their lives together!
