How We Met

"He's abnormally attractive" 🤣🤣🤣

When we met the first time, James already knew who Aisha was. Aisha was leaving a church after a long day of fun but tiring ministry in Houston, TX, with her bestfriend Bethany. Suddenly, this man jumped out of nowhere towards us with his arms open wide. He said “hey! You’re Aisha right? And your Bethany? I’m Poncho! Im coming to do Circuit Riders this fall!” Thinking he was probably just a really excited, really young guy just coming out of college, Aisha responded, “wow that’s amazing bro! We’re so excited for you!” Hahaha not exactly what he was looking for. Aisha has to confess though, the moment her and Bethany got in the car to go home, she said without hesitation: “wow! He is abnormally attractive, huh? All the girls in his school are gonna have a crush on him!” A couple months later, James came to one of our Black Voices events before his Circuit Rider school started. It’s here that they sat across a table at a Canes and began to get to know each other. It was during this weekend that James got Aisha’s phone number, and began to text her every day asking her questions, sharing about himself, and pursuing a friendship. He never stopped texting her every day, and soon a deep friendship was sparked. This friendship grew into a real chemistry and bond, and by the time he moved to California for Circuit Riders, the friendship phase was hanging on by a thread. Haha! On October 22nd, at 10:22pm, he asked her to be his girlfriend. They fell in love, and the rest is history!

What We Do 😇⛪️❤️

Save the Lost. Revive the Saved. Train them All.

James and Aisha Toombs are full time Missionaries with YWAM Circuit Riders, a training community that launches movements to reach the next generation. Our passion is Jesus, our mission field is our generation, and our opportunity is now. We believe that we will see another Jesus Movement sweep across not only America, but this generation globally. We have given our lives to see this become a reality. Gen Z is considered by Barna Research to be the first truly unchurched generation on earth. The statistics on mental health, dysmorphia, confusion, and suicidal thoughts are devastating, and yet Jesus has said that the Harvest is plentiful but the Laborers are Few. What we do in Circuit Riders is both share the Gospel for young people to get saved, and mobilize and train for more Laborers. From our experience, when Gen Z gives their life to Jesus they are zealously devoted to evangelism, discipleship, and to live like Christ. They are pulled out of the darkness they felt trapped in before, and launched into a life of freedom, joy, and purpose in Christ, not to mention incredible capacities of leadership. We have seen this transform the cultures on college and high school campuses, and go on to impact the workplace and local communities at large. The future depends on the next generation, and it is our honor to see God move in hundreds and even thousands of young people each year. Practically, we send teams of evangelists to high schools, universities, prisons, and inner cities around the world to host Gospel events. We share the Gospel, pray for and see healing emotionally, mentally and physically, and train up young people to know their identity in Christ and begin to walk in leadership and ownership of their generation. James' primary role in Circuit Riders is as a global evangelism coordinator and trainer, 1 on 1 mentor, preacher, and leader in the ministry. Aisha's primary role is discipling young people through Worship Leading, Songwriting, Preaching and 1 on 1 Discipleship. They serve in Prison ministry, Aisha serves our Women's Movement, they both serve our Black Voices Movement, our local prayer room, our bi annual discipleship school, and in many evangeslistic festivals and schools globally throughout the year. Together, they believe that we could see the fulfillment of the Great Commission in our day!

How You Can Support Us 🫡🌏🤝

We're in this for life!

All of the work we do is made possible through a team of monthly financial partners! Many people will fund political campaigns, professors doing research, or doctors traveling to bring medical aid to nations in need. We believe that the work of the kingdom of God, and sewing into the next generation is just as noble a work, and one of the best financial investments you can make! Without the next generation, our country and our world can’t go anywhere. We'd love to invite you to consider joining our monthly team! You can also text us directly for more information. We’d love to grab a coffee and talk on the phone more about this work! The link to sign up for tax deductible giving is below: https://www.equipnet.org/missionaries/jatoombs
