We’re Getting Married!

From the very beginning, their story has felt like timing, friendship, laughter, and fate all intertwined. Joe and Airee first met in high school, where they were simply friends. Even then, there were moments that somehow stayed with them through the years. They both vividly remember the day Joe came to Airee’s mom’s house after an injury and how, for reasons neither of them can fully explain, they spent the entire day laughing and having the best time together. They also remember training together while Airee prepared for her Dancing Doll auditions at Southern University. Joe still jokes that the workouts were so intense, Airee disappeared afterward and didn’t speak to him for twenty years. And for twenty years, life happened. They grew up. They experienced love and heartbreak. They became parents. There were messages left unread, moments missed, and chances that—if taken—might have changed everything sooner. But God’s timing has a way of finding people anyway. In April 2025, Joe and Airee saw each other again for the first time in years—first at a mutual friend’s funeral, then shortly after at their high school reunion celebrating twenty years since graduation. Somewhere between the conversations, the laughter, and casually reaching for each other’s hands, something felt different. Something felt like more. Eventually, Airee answered the message and agreed to dinner… though Joe technically stood her up. (To be fair, there was a real family emergency.) Thankfully, he made up for it quickly. What started as cautious conversations turned into constant communication, thoughtful pursuit, and one FaceTime call that lasted for hours. After that, they talked every single day. Two weeks later, Joe asked Airee to be his girlfriend. Six months later, he asked her to be his wife. And now, after twenty years, missed timing, second chances, and a love they never saw coming, they get to begin forever together.
