Things To Do

Stovehouse

3414 Governors Drive Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35805

A repurposed stove factory from the 1920s is now home to local restaurants, shops, and entertainment spaces. Ainsley is a fan of Kamado Ramen, while Rylee thinks Fresko Grille is hard to beat.

Supper Heroes

1812 Winchester Road Northeast, Huntsville, AL 35811

Comic book collectibles and artwork cover every surface of this friendly restaurant serving up delicious burgers and sandwiches, among other things. The Bamm-Bamm sandwich and El Matador salad are favorites, but this is one of those places where it's hard to make a bad choice.

Four Knights Coffee

109 North Main Street, Arab, AL 35016

This cozy cafe nestled in the historic district of Arab, AL is a great place to relax with a fancy coffee. Ainsley has all the recommendations on this one, as it's her workplace!

Campus No. 805

2620 Clinton Avenue West, Huntsville, AL 35805

A public school building dating back to the 1950s had been up for sale for years, until local businesses decided to turn it into an entertainment venue with everything from restaurants and breweries to pinball arcades and dessert shoppes. Gourmet chocolates from Pizzelles are always a treat!

Grumpy's Pizza

1054 North Brindlee Mountain Parkway, Arab, AL 35016

Their crispy, thin crust pizza loaded with toppings is amazing!

Big Ed's Pizza

255 Pratt Avenue Northeast, Huntsville, AL 35801

Located in one of Huntsville's quirkiest buildings, which is saying a lot, Big Ed's has been around for decades. Their calzones are out of this world, especially with a side salad.

Midas Burger

221 North Brindlee Mountain Parkway, Arab, AL 35016

Burger is in the name, but if you go to this Arab favorite, trust us, get the chicken. It is fried to cripsy perfection!

Huntsville Botanical Garden

4747 Bob Wallace Avenue Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35805

Rylee proposed to Ainsley here after they had been visiting for years with their families and homeschool groups.

U.S. Space & Rocket Center

1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL 35805

Any city that has been known as the Rocket City for 75 years is bound to have a museum about space. If you haven't visited the Sprocket Center, as locals lovingly call it, have you even been to Huntsville yet?

Huntsville Museum of Art

300 Church Street Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35801

The collection of Buccellati Silver animals is particularly enchanting.

Arab Historic Village

844 Shoal Creek Trail Northeast, Arab, AL 35016

Ainsley and Rylee have grown up attending school field trips and Christmas events in this charming living history park.

Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment

2211 Seminole Drive Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35805

A sprawling industrial complex turned into an eclectic artist enclave and mixed use facility. It has to be seen to be believed. Ainsley, Rylee, and their friends have spent countless hours hanging out here.

Huntsville Ice Sports Center

3185 Leeman Ferry Road Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35801

Rylee has been on skates since he was 4, playing hockey all the way through high school, and eventually becoming a hockey official to this day. Ainsley has spent many an hour cheering from the stands or more usually, at the scoring table. Try out an open skate session where you can rent a pair of skates and see what it's like to glide on the ice!

Parkway Place

2801 Memorial Parkway Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35801

An indoor mall for when you need stuff, want stuff, or have an urge for a food court. Box Lunch is a favorite store for all the geeky and fandom merch.

Bridge Street Town Centre

365 The Bridge Street Northwest, Huntsville, AL 35806

An upscale, outdoor shopping village with restaurants, a movie theatre where quite a few of Ainsley and Rylee's dates took place, and even a carousel alongside the water. Stop by The Chocolate Crocodile to pick up an apple dipped in any number of delicious toppings.

The Picker's Choice

10495 U.S. 231, Arab, AL 35016

This store has every sort of vendor imaginable and the rooms seem to go on forever. If you can't find it here, you probably don't need it.

University Pickers

3405 Triana Boulevard Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35805

North Alabamians who enjoy a good browse and the never ending search for that one of kind antique, handcraft, or most anything else know this store is a must stop.
