Lucius and Ainsley met on the Hinge dating app. They spent a few weeks texting back and forth before Lucius suggested that they could talk on the phone. The phone calls became a frequent thing after the initial chat until one night when they were supposed to have a phone call, when Lucius threw out the idea of meeting up for some ice cream. Ainsley excitedly said yes. So a few hours later on October 18th 2023, they met at a Love Boat ice cream shop in Fort Myers, Fl. Lucius and Ainsley spent the next three and a half hours eating ice cream and walking circles in a Target. And thus began their story

This story starts early in Ainsley and Lucius' relationship. In November 2023, Ainsley showed Lucius her favorite movie "La La Land" for the first time. In the movie, the two main characters meet in a restaurant as the male lead is playing a song that becomes their theme throughout the movie. The movie depicts the lights going dark and the two leads being the only two people in the crowded restaurant. This sparked the idea for Lucius. Seeing Ainsley's reaction to this scene, Lucius began to formulate his plan for his proposal. Fast forward to Easter Weekend 2024. Lucius has secretly been working on learning how to play the piano, specifically "Mia and Sebastian's Theme" from "La La Land". Leading up to Easter, Lucius and Ainsley decided to drive to Greensboro GA to spend the weekend with her family. Knowing that this was the big weekend, Lucius suggested that they get a nice lunch together on the Friday. Unknown to Ainsley, this whole weekend had a completely different purpose. Friday morning, Ainsley and her mom went out for breakfast together while Lucius went to their church to help her dad set up for Easter. With lunch plans in place, Ainsley goes to the church after spending the morning with her mom to pick Lucius up. She goes into her dad's office who directs her to the worship center where Lucius is "setting things up" for the service on Sunday. Ainsley walks in and sees Lucius seated at the piano and as she opens the door, he begins to play "Mia and Sebastian's Theme". Ainsley walks to the stage and as she gets closer, she sees the ring box sitting on the top of the piano and it finally hits her. She sits next to Lucius as he continues to play and as he wraps up the song, he grabs the ring box, spins off the bench and gets down on one knee.
