In the summer of 2017, Aimee and Barry were set up as each other's dates for Aimee's best friend and maid of honor's (Rebecca) 21st birthday at the casino. Prior to even meeting, Barry offered to pick Aimee up at LaGuardia Airport as she arrived from Georgia, where she lived at the time. The two hit it off instantly and the conversation was easy, both expressing to their friends that it was as if they had known each other for years. Alas, once the festivities were over, Aimee had to fly back to Georgia - but distance couldn't keep them apart. Over the next six months, Barry and Aimee would talk daily, and eventually, when Aimee came back up north for Christmas, the two decided to make things official and take on a long-distance relationship head first. It started with flights back and forth every few months, but quickly turned into once a month, alternating who would fly. After about a year and a half of long-distance, Aimee and Barry decided their love could be apart no more. Aimee finished graduate school, packed up her things, and the two moved into a cozy apartment in the Bronx - not far from where Barry went to school. The couple later moved to Manhattan - couldn't turn down the COVID price - are happily enjoying living the city life together. Barry proposed to Aimee at their favorite spot in Central Park, with friends hiding close by to take pictures and give congratulatory hugs. Video recording will show that Barry didn't get to even finish asking before Aimee overwhelmingly answered "YES"! The future Mr. and Mrs. McPhail can't wait to celebrate with you all at their wedding!
