It all began when Aimee and Josh met at the age of 7 through Rockland Community Church. Through all the youth mission trips and Church outings over the years, Aimee never suspected that Josh’s love was ever-growing for her. As they got older and saw less of each other, they always managed to keep in contact whether it was meeting up for lunch, coffee or just to catch up. Josh’s feelings always remained. A couple of years went by before Josh worked up the courage to ask Miss Aimee out on a date. Aimee was hesitant at first, but worked through her nerves and met Josh at the Rock Rest Lodge. After a few hours of endless laughs, and smiles Josh asked if he could take Aimee to his favorite place in Evergreen. The two of them drove up to Evergreen Lake, where they walked out onto the boat dock and stood looking at the calm, glass-like water, and the beautiful treeline along the mountainside. Talking into the night, Josh knew he had no other choice but to tell Aimee how he had always felt for her over the years of their youth, and now he wanted to prove this to her. He grabbed Aimee’s hand and leaned in for a kiss. As he leaned... Splash! They both hit the water. As they struggled to pull themselves back onto the dock Aimee lost her sandal to the lake. So, Josh carried her back to his truck and drove her home to dry off her clothes and lend her his own as any good man would do. Completely embarrassed that he had pushed her into a lake, he apologized profusely, much to Aimee’s amusement. She had clearly thought this nothing to be sorry for. To Josh’s surprise, she allowed him to take her out to dinner and a real date just a few nights later. Guess a little “Push” was all they needed. You know the rest.
