We've been lucky to know each other since grade school and have been friends nearly as long. When Aimee moved to northern Illinois for a work assignment, John moved in to watch over the house--and never moved out! We lived together as friends for a few years before sparks flew. A once in a lifetime event! When we learned that there would be a solar eclipse we knew we had to see it! We checked the cities where we'd be able to view it in totality and settled on Nashville since neither of us had ever been there. We packed up a fancy picnic lunch and settled down in a beautiful park in the 12 South neighborhood. John took the opportunity to ask while we were waiting for everything to begin much to Aimee's surprise! We ended up toasting the eclipse AND our engagement with champagne!
