Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We want everyone to feel their best! Wear the dress, suit, pants, etc. that make you feel amazing! (When I doubt look at cocktail wedding attire)

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

We are working on getting a method for RSVPing set up please stay tuned!

Question

How should I get to from the venue, reception, etc.?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Woburn, MA with a cocktail hour and reception to follow at Cafe Escadrille in Burlington, MA. Both sites are very close to one another and there is ample parking at each site and plenty of ride shares/taxis in the area.

Question

Are plus ones invited?

Answer

Unfortunately, we are unable to have additional people other than those on the invitation envelope due to venue restrictions.

Question

What does a Greek wedding involve?

Answer

The Betrothal is first part of a Greek Orthodox wedding, the priest will bless the rings and proclaim the bride and groom betrothed. Rings are placed on the right hands and the official sponsor, Koumbaros, exchanges the rings three times. Next is the actual wedding and is composed of several different traditions including the bride and groom lighting candles, joining of hands, the crowning, readings, drinking from a common cup, and the dance of isaiah, where the bride and groom circle a small table. The Koumbaros, Greek Best Man, plays a significant role in all these traditions. Ours will be Hristo's cousin, Salvatore Vivacqua. The wedding will also be completed in a mix of Greek and English, but we promise to make sure all the non-Greek speakers, which includes us, know what is going on. The ceremony will be about 45 minutes to an hour. As Hristos says "it's all killer no filler" so hopefully should be interesting for everyone! There will also be several Greek dances that we dance during the reception. We encourage everyone to participate in these even if you aren't super familiar with them. We will post some videos once we have them. Aimee will need to learn these all too so you won't be alone!
