The plan was simple. Take Aimee to dinner. Walk her past this beautiful fountain. Pop the question. Spend the rest of our lives together. Easy, right? But life rarely goes according to plan. It was cold and raining which is not great for pictures. Nevertheless, I begged her to come out to dinner even though she wanted to order in. After we sat down, Aimee could tell something was up. I looked nervous and was drinking most of the sangria pitcher. When dinner was over, I said we should cut through the park in order to walk past the fountain, but it was still raining and Aimee didn't want to get soaked. So there I am cold, wet, but determined. I drop to one knee right there. I must have thought of a million clever things to say to her but at the time I can only muster ten simple words "This isn't what I planned, but will you marry me?" She says yes and that’s all that matters. Nothing needed to go according to plan because at the end of the day, the only thing that matters was that look on her face. The plan was simple. Pop the question. Spend the rest of our lives together. Check and Check.
