Things To Do

Trinity Church of Loudoun

23171 Minerva Drive, Ashburn, VA 20148

We wouldn’t be where we are today without our local church family, which we are so grateful for! We encourage you to check them out while you’re in town! Services are at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday, and pastors Matt and Dave will be involved in our ceremony, so you can meet them ahead of time!

Trinity House Café

101 East Market Street, Leesburg, VA 20176
, (703) 737-3721

An excellent coffee shop to visit while you’re in town! Drinks are inspired by the Inklings - C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien are the most famous members - some of our favorite authors. They also have delicious breakfast and lunch fare!

One Loudoun Restaurants

20626 Easthampton Plaza, Ashburn, VA 20147

You can find some of the best restaurants in the area at One Loudoun with so much variety - from Thai food to Indian, fish tacos, burgers, and even Trader Joe's!

Fire Works Pizza - Cascades

21475 Epicerie Plaza, Sterling, VA 20164
, (571) 313-0020

Some of the best wood fired pizza around, plus they have great Gluten-Free options! (If you're closer to Leesburg, they also have a location there.)

Washington and Old Dominion Trail

Washington and Old Dominion Trail, VA 20175

The place where Alistair and I first met, the Washington and Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail makes for an enjoyable and easy bike ride anytime of the year. Many bike shops along the trail offer rentals, so you can enjoy a short afternoon ride, or take the bikes all day!

Harpers Ferry National Historical Park

171 Shoreline Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425
, (304) 535-6029

Harpers Ferry sits on the convergence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, and has one of the cutest historic towns around! With plenty of hiking, and a number of cute sandwich and ice cream shop options, Harpers ferry is a great afternoon or day trip!

Washington

Washington, DC

With the Smithsonian museums and national monuments open free to the public, taking a day to tour Washington, D.C., is always a great option to spend an extra day in town. Some of our personal favorites: Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, the Capitol Building, National Gallery of Art, American History Museum, and Library of Congress.

Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon, VA

The home of our first president sits on a gorgeously maintained estate and grounds, perfect for the whole family to engage with history and explore. The property itself sits on the edge of the Potomac, so you get some river views in as well. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re a history buff.

Great Falls Park

9200 Old Dominion Drive, McLean, VA 22102

One of the area’s most well-loved parks, Great Falls National Park features some of the best waterfalls around. With short walks that are suitable for young children, two more extensive hikes that will take most of an afternoon, Great Falls features options for a variety of different groups.

Skyline Drive

Skyline Drive, Front Royal, VA

Skyline Drive is an excellent option to see the Blue Ridge and gorgeous views of the Shenandoah Valley. The entire drive itself will take a couple of hours, making it a great option if you want to break out your favorite playlist and sing with the windows rolled down!

Middleburg

Middleburg, VA 20117

Home of fox hunting, and the Red Tavern Inn - where George Washington stayed while surveying Winchester in his early career - Middleburg is full of historic and quaint shops where you will find some of the most unique and historic pieces that Loudoun County has to offer. It's also close to Sky Meadow State Park - with gorgeous views and easy hiking trails!

Purcellville

Purcellville, VA

This quaint town is where Aimee went to college, and where we rode our bikes on our first in person date! The W&OD trail ends right in downtown at this cute bakery called Sweet Rose Bakeshop. You can poke around into antique stores, grab some amazing burgers at Market Burger, or go for a nice sit-down at Magnolia's at the Mill - and don't forget some of Gruto's famous banana-chocolate soft serve ice cream while you're in town!
