FAQs

The Wedding Website of Philip Lee and Ailís McGeady
Question

How often does the ferry run?

Answer

The Lusty Beg ferry runs on demand all day as and when required. To call the ferry, you can contact bar staff or night porter or dial '0' from the phone in the mainland car park. It only takes about 3 minutes to cross, there is no need to book and it's free of charge. Staying guests can bring their car over to the island but they can only fit two cars at a time on the ferry.

Question

Can I take my car onto the island?

Answer

The ferry can fit two cars at a time, with space for foot passengers. There is a car park where you can leave your car off the island also. If you don’t have much luggage, it may be quicker to leave your car in the car park and board the ferry as a foot passenger, as there can sometimes be a long queue of cars at check-in/check-out time.

Question

Where am I staying and how do I pay for my accommodation?

Answer

The island offers a variety of accommodation options. Many of you have booked your own accommodation, while for others we have reserved rooms. If you're unsure where you're staying, you can contact Lusty Beg and they will be happy to let you know. You can phone the island and pay beforehand or pay upon arrival.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that during the ceremony you let the photographer and videographer capture the moment.

Question

Is there a wedding registry?

Answer

No, your presence at our wedding is more than enough for us. If you would like to give a gift, we would greatly appreciate a contribution towards our honeymoon.

Question

Is there a shop on the island?

Answer

There is no shop on the island, so it’s best to pick up any supplies you may need before arriving at Lusty Beg. We recommend stopping in the village of Kesh on your way, which you will pass en route. It is approximately 5–6 miles from Lusty Beg and has shops where you can stock up. All rooms include breakfast, so there is no need to bring breakfast items.

Question

Is there a local taxi company?

Answer

For those of you who are not staying on the island, there are a few local taxi companies available to use. We would recommend having this pre booked. Kesh Cabs: 07752680455 Macs Taxis: 07851705822 Sim Cars: 07734109858 Diamond Cabs: 02866328484 Scottie: 07802810470 RoadRunner Taxis: 07912688949
