Aidan and Zach first met in 2017 while working at Blanco Tacos & Tequila in Tucson. He was a sophomore and she a senior at the University of Arizona. Aidan was serving and Zach was bussing. As the older one (by a whole ten months), Aidan made the first move, and Zach is forever grateful she did. For their very first date, Zach cooked dinner, his homemade red sauce with pasta, the ultimate green flag for a fellow Italian. While both still in Tucson, their early days together were filled with quality time, cooking, and trips to any music festival they could manage (oh, to have so few responsibilities). Their long-distance chapter began in October 2018 when Aidan moved to Spain to teach English after graduation. Zach visited her during spring break in Portugal and again after he graduated, when Aidan joined him and his family in Italy. The distance was hard but helped them grow both individually and as a couple. In 2019, Aidan returned to the U.S. and moved to Los Angeles, while Zach pursued his lifelong dream of living in Telluride, Colorado. Though they planned to live together eventually, the pandemic sped things up. In 2020, Aidan flew to Telluride for “two weeks,” which turned into two and a half years. That time in the San Juan Mountains became a cherished chapter. Though Telluride was just 20 minutes away, their tiny town of Ophir had only 170 residents. They spent their days hiking stunning trails, skiing together all winter (Aidan went from beginner to expert), and adopting their dog, Gio, in 2021. But while Zach is a mountain soul, Aidan is a city girl at heart. By 2022, they were ready for more people, opportunities, and things to do, so they moved back to Arizona, this time to Scottsdale. Since then, they have worked hard on their careers, nurtured their relationship, and strengthened their communication as they prepared for their future together. On August 17, 2025, Zach proposed on Mt. Lemmon. Aidan may have seen it coming, but she was still overjoyed and shocked in the best way. Now, they cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with the people they love most. Let the countdown begin!
