🩷🌸 Our Story 🌸🩷

Sara and Aidan knew each other all through middle school up until senior year of high school, where we became more than just acquaintances. A Spanish project about a telenovela become the story that brought Sara and Aidan together as we know now. Within a year of our relationship came the decision of where we went to college. We both ended up being Badgers at UW Madison and both experienced the wonderfulness we'll come to reference in history as COVID times. In the time spent home during COVID, it was like high school again. It was during this time that it was clear that no matter what obstacles we faced, we were meant to help each other through both the happy and difficult times. Thousands of hours of shows, statistics, chemistry, mythology, dancing, billiards, workouts, cooking, and most of all - talking about anything - were spent together. Our high school relationship slowly became more serious and we eventually moved into Madison apartments at the same time for our junior year of undergrad. What Sara decided to be an excellent campus job was where Aidan followed suit. We were both minions at UW Madison campus gyms. We both became supervisors and both spent full days working together, not leaving each others' sides. After two years of being on campus, the ominous question of the future approached with what graduate school was shaping up to be. Sara earned the wonderful opportunity to go to Purdue University in Indiana for speech pathology while Aidan remained a home-body and stayed at UW-Madison for physical therapy. This was our first introduction to long distance. Through both daily and nightly phone calls we persisted, maintained, and grew as people together while apart. Our time spent together through many hours of traffic was even more special and it became all the more apparent to Aidan's mind that his girl needed a ring on her finger. After getting the ring in a gas station parking lot, Aidan had plans underway to ensure he could propose to Sara on their 6th year anniversary on November 23rd of 2024. It was to be on her parents farmland in Mount Horeb Wisconsin, where she grew up. Aidan wanted to make the moment special, since this was the last autumn that Sara and her family would have this land as their home due to other unplanned events. The moment came, and the morning of the proposal Aidan could hardly eat a piece of bread for breakfast and Sara continued to have no clue about what was happening. Conveniently, Aidan left his keys upstairs in his apartment before leaving to get to Sara's house. He grabbed both his keys and the ring and they started their travel to the destination. Aidan played it cool and fiddled with the awesome anniversary gift from Sara (binoculars for hunting), and Sara didn't think twice about Aidan not saying much in the car due to this reason. Prior to even getting the ring, Aidan made a phone call to Sara's brother, Steven, whom is a wedding videographer and photographer. Aidan conveniently planned to ensure her whole family was at the farmhouse for their annual event of getting a Christmas card picture and putting the tree up on their silo. Sara didn't think twice about her brother Steven being out in the yard with his camera taking pictures of the farm. Aidan and Steven had planned out the spot for where Aidan was going to get down on one knee. The binoculars posed as a perfect reason to walk outside and get into position. At first Aidan asked if Sara would like to try out the binoculars to spot and glass for some deer on the land. Sara agreed to humor his idea and they started their walk. On the third spot overlooking her family’s pasture, Aidan said that he had a question for Sara once she was done looking out into the pasture. She turned around and low and behold saw Aidan down on one knee with the ring. Shaking, Aidan could not put the ring on her finger, but she did say yes after a period of disbelief.
