We first knew of each other through the Christian Campus House at the University of Missouri (Mizzou), though for years our paths crossed quietly. We shared familiar places, late college nights, and even the same study abroad trip to Israel long before we truly knew one another. A few years after college, our circle of friends reunited for a Mizzou homecoming game and soon after, a Friendsgiving. Even then, we were not especially close — just two people in the same circle, slowly getting to know one another. Prompted by Aidan on January 12, 2025, our first date had us getting dinner at Murry's after Emily politely declined ice skating. After the third date, Aidan suggested we walk up a hill to an overlook near the Missouri River where we had an intentional conversation about continuing to go on dates but with purpose — a quiet, meaningful moment that set the tone for everything that followed. That same overlook later became the place where Aidan would ask Emily to marry him on November 22, 2025. When recounting the proposal, Emily often describes the walk as “hiking up a mountain,” though it was really only a few, small steps. In a full-circle moment, the place that had already begun to mean so much to us became the beginning of our forever. What once felt like coincidence became clarity, rooted in faith, friendship, and choosing each other with intention. We are deeply grateful for the journey that has brought us to this moment, and we cannot wait to celebrate the next chapter of our lives with you.
