During our freshman year at RPI in 2019, we met through friends while living on the same floor of our dorm. After spending a year becoming friends, we went rollerskating on our first date during the beginning of our sophomore year and we've been together ever since!

During our trip to Japan, we took a day to travel to Enoshima Island. During our time at the aquarium Amber said "What if you proposed to me in an aquarium?" and I thought that she knew for sure. As we traveled up to the garden at the peak of the island I snuck the ring out of my bag and into my pocket. In the garden, I pretended to set up my phone to take a photo, and to my surprise she was surprised. She was so shocked she cried tears of happiness while saying "Oh my gosh YES"!
