The Vibes (FAQs)

The Wedding Website of Aida Asgari and Dan Drzal
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Coastal semi-formal. Dresses, jumpsuits, button-downs, suits... Whatever makes you feel beautiful! Layers recommended, Santa Cruz can get chilly in the evenings (even in the Summer).

Question

Is the ceremony outdoors?

Answer

Yes the ceremony will be outdoors and cocktail hour will be indoor/outdoors. But the reception and dancehall is indoors. Please bring a jacket as it gets cold during evenings on the coast!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Late August in Santa Cruz is typically sunny with cool ocean air, and sometimes foggy. Expect 60s-70s during the day and cooler after sunset. Though we can get late summer heatwaves that push into the 80s. Check the weather before packing. And bring layers! (did we mention that already?)

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! The Seymour Center has a large free on-site parking lot for all guests. Did you really think Aida would chose a venue without parking?

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

No, we love your children but please keep them at home. This is an adult only event!

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We are keeping our wedding small and intimate. No plus-ones.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

30 minutes before the ceremony, so around 4:30 pm. The ceremony will start promptly at 5pm. If you are running late, please wait until after the ceremony has finished to join the party.

Question

Will food and drinks be served?

Answer

Yes, there will be an open bar and dinner. Vegetarian options will be available.

Question

Is the venue accessible?

Answer

Yes. The Seymour Center has accessible paths and restrooms. Contact us if you need any specific accommodations.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Please visit the Lodgings tab. We recommend staying on the Westside or Downtown area of Santa Cruz. There are many Airbnb's and hotels available. Please book sooner than later as Santa Cruz is a popular tourist destination in the summer! We have a reserved hotel block at Mission Inn and Suites

Question

Will the ceremony be unplugged?

Answer

Yes, we’re having an unplugged ceremony. Please silence and put away your phones so we can see your beautiful faces, not a sea of screens. Our photographer will capture everything, and we promise to share the photos! Photos are welcome after the ceremony.

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Gifts are not necessary, but if you do wish to gift us something, please refer to our registry. No physical gifts at the event please. Cards are always welcome!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

As soon as you know whether or not you can join the fun! But deadline is May 1st, 2026.
