What is a Walima?

Answer

A Walima is the traditional Islamic wedding feast or reception, a joyous banquet hosted by the groom's family after the Nikah (marriage contract) to celebrate and publicly announce the marriage, signifying the start of the couple's new life and sharing their happiness with the community.

Answer

Yes! We will have a dedicated space for people who wish to do their prayers.

Question

What attire do I wear to a walima (wedding reception)?

Answer

You're welcome to wear either Desi or American clothes! If you're planning on wearing American clothes, please come in formal wedding attire (think long dresses, suits, etc.). If you want to wear Desi clothes but don't own any, then we can recommend some sites that you can buy it from - just let Ahnaf and Aleena know and they can help!
