We met at Valparaiso University, in Alumni residence hall, through a mutual friend. While Felicia's friend sat near Ahmad, Felicia noticed his confidence and how he made everyone laugh, including her. Ahmad noticed her smile and her honesty. Through many late-night conversations, a nerve-wracking first date at Buffalo Wild Wings, and an electric connection, Ahmad and Felicia decided to be more than friends.

Over two years, Ahmad and Felicia worked as Resident Assistants together. They weren't often on-call together, but they would keep each other company while the other was working, studying, joking, and sharing stories. While at Valparaiso, Ahmad and Felicia goofed off at the apple orchard, watched a roller derby, ran across the windy dunes at midnight, and enjoyed Chicago's nightlife. They traveled, ate lots of Mexican food and sushi, and got to know each other.

While at Disney, Ahmad asked Felicia's dad if he would support their marriage; her dad said he would support them. One month later, after securing jobs in Cleveland, Ahmad took Felicia to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. They hiked around the park until they reached the Bridal Veil Falls. He got down on one knee and held out a dazzling ring; she began crying tears of happiness. The answer, of course, was a joyous YES! After a hug, a selfie, and a last look at the peaceful view, they celebrated with Melt grilled cheeses and watching LIVE PD.
