Megan and Marcus can’t truly pinpoint when they met for the first time, but it had to be sometime in middle school. Marcus claims he laid eyes on Megan at a pool party at her house in the 7th grade and that it was love at first sight and the start of his crush that would last for the next 6 years, but Megan doesn’t buy it. Even though they went to different schools, they would often see each other at events between their mutual friends throughout middle school and high school. In 2018, Marcus and Megan, along with their friends, took a weekend trip to San Luis Obispo to visit a friend attending Cal Poly and celebrate the Halloween weekend. Megan was dressed as a rockstar, and Marcus a police officer, writing Megan a ticket for making him laugh too much. I guess you could say the rest is history… after the trip Megan and Marcus started talking often and spending more time together until Marcus officially asked Megan out on a real date after Christmas.
Marcus proposed on New Year’s Eve as the ball dropped and the clock struck midnight, the same way Megan’s parents got engaged in 1997. The Agueda’s hosted their annual New Year’s Eve Party with their family and friends, and Marcus thought it would be special to be surrounded by loved ones when he popped the question. Megan was truly surprised, making it even more special! Marcus got down on one knee at the end of the countdown (surprising everyone around them since only their parents and siblings knew it was coming), Megan lost it (in her true emotional fashion) and wedding planning officially began 8 hours later.
