It was Sunday, November 29, 2020, the weekend after Thanksgiving in NY with our families. Ryan and I had come back to Boston on Saturday so we could have the whole day Sunday to relax. Our usual Sundays during this time usually consisted of lounging around all day and doing as little as possible, so when Ryan asked me to take a walk on the esplanade with him I was not down. It was the end of November and it was a beautiful sunny day, but it was COLD. As Ryan said to his mom as she eagerly awaited to hear the news of his proposal "The eagle will not leave the nest." I felt bad spending the whole day inside when he was so eager to spend it outside so we agreed to go out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in the South end, Kava. At dinner, Ryan ate faster than ever. For those of you who don't know, I am an extremely slow eater so as you can imagine, Ryan spent most of dinner watching me take my sweet time enjoying every bit of our meal. When we finished with dinner, Ryan suggested walking around the block before going back to the car in which I agreed. How can anyone turn down walking the streets of the beautiful South End neighborhood? To reiterate the temperature outside, it was COLD. As we walked along the sidewalk, I pointed at the Prudential Center in the distance noting it's pretty green color. Ryan, stopped walking and suggested we "stop and take this moment in for a second." Extremely confused at how out of the ordinary this was in the moment, I said "Okay??" so I turned around, and took in the view. Ryan began to bring up a thoughtful toast I had done at dinner, and stopped in his thoughts for a moment, and I half jokingly asked him "are you proposing to me???" Speechless, he replied yes, took a small box out of his pocket, got down on one knee, opened the box to reveal the shiniest ring, and asked "Will you marry me?" In shock that the answer to that question was actually yes, I very excitedly also said "YES!".
