Chapter 1: The day we met It was September 2016. We were law students from Poland and Spain, respectively, who had decided to experience Erasmus in Hamburg, Germany. This turned out to be the sweetest coincidence of our lives. From day one, we became good friends. Chapter 2: Travel buddies After the exchange ended in December 2016, we returned to our respective countries to finalise our law degrees. However, we stayed in touch, visited each other, and travelled together. By the summer of 2018, we had become very close, chatting every day and becoming an inseparable part of each other’s lives, yet we were still apart. Chapter 3: Making the big step In September 2019, we took a leap of faith and rented an apartment in Maastricht, Netherlands, to finally live together and pursue a Master’s in EU Law. Everything was going well, until the COVID-19 pandemic hit in February 2020. This challenged us to find ways to spend our time during those long months of intense studying and very little life outside. Thankfully, restrictions in the Netherlands were lax, and we were able to hop on our bikes and explore the countryside. We completed our Master’s in July 2020 and went long-distance again. Chapter 4: Building a home In January 2021, we had both moved to Brussels, Belgium, to continue our professional careers. Since then, we have created a place we can call home, not only going on new adventures together, but also finding comfort and joy in the little, slow things of a shared life. Our home is now filled with plants, mementos, and a very pretty car outside waiting for us. Our life together is no longer a collection of moments and memories, but a place we wake up to, every day. continue growing closer and renewing our love. Chapter 5: Engagement On the 4th of January 2024, during an amazing trip through Thailand, Ramón took the step of proposing during a quiet night on the terrace of a beautiful treehouse in the Khao Sok jungle – the monkeys in the tree branches were the only witnesses :D We invite you to join us on the 20 th of June 2026 to open a brand-new chapter with us!
