It was their senior year of high school, and Agnes and Edon had recently been accepted into Indiana University. There was a Facebook page for accepted students that people were using to find roommates and make friends. Agnes posted one day in mid-March that she was Jewish, was going to study voice, and was looking for a roommate. Edon, ignoring the roommate comment (for now), commented because he figured he would see Agnes all the time if she was a Jewish voice major. He assumed Agnes would be at Hillel all the time (as it turns out, not until halfway through Sophomore year) and that since he was a Recording Arts student and would be recording the operas, he assumed they would cross paths backstage. This also did not happen. Agnes and Edon talked on Skype and Google Hangouts for a little while and started to fall for each other. On March 28, 2014, Edon asked Agnes if she wanted to date when they got to school, and she said yes. A couple of weeks after that, Agnes and Edon became very sad because Edon didn't get the scholarship money he needed to attend IU. At this point, they had both fallen hard and decided to try to make long-distance work between Bloomington, IN and Chicago, IL. They met for the first time in person on September 5, 2014. After 4.5 years of long-distance, a year of living in Jerusalem, moving in together in NYC, and a pandemic, Agnes and Edon have seen it all and are eager to FINALLY get married!!!
