Our Story

When John moved to New Hampshire at 30 for work, he had no idea that just one month later he would meet the person he had been waiting for his whole life. That person was Victoria. From the very beginning, something felt different. Both of them recognized it almost immediately — the feeling that their lives were meant to intersect. Though they had spent years living nearly 1,400 miles apart, their upbringings unfolded in remarkably similar ways, as if they had been moving in parallel all along. Before long, their lives began to intertwine in the most natural way. What started as a connection quickly grew into a deep partnership built on laughter, warmth, and a shared sense of home. They make each other laugh every day, support one another through everything, and love each other deeply. Some people call it fate. They call it finding their twin flame.

Our First Date

John arrived first and waited for Victoria by the door of a local brewery where they had planned to meet. As they settled in and began talking, music played in the background — Motion City Soundtrack, one of those fringe pop-punk bands they had both grown up loving, though they didn’t realize that shared connection just yet. From the very beginning, the conversation came easily. Topic after topic flowed naturally, and the more they learned about each other, the harder it became to believe what was happening. Their interests, outlooks, and sense of humor seemed to line up in a way that felt almost unbelievable. The normally confident Victoria found herself feeling a little nervous. Meanwhile, the usually shy John was more outgoing than ever. By the end of the night, it was clear to both of them that something special had begun — the kind of connection people spend a lifetime hoping to find.

Our First Concert

It was a cold night in Worcester, Massachusetts. John and Victoria had made the trip for their first concert together - Four Year Strong’s annual Christmas show at the Palladium. It’s a show that normally sells out, but somehow they managed to get tickets. Before the concert, they stopped at Armsby Abbey for a drink. It was there that John told Victoria he loved her for the first time. He knew it was true, and Victoria felt the same way. Most of the concert was actually spent standing in line for a t-shirt, but somehow that didn’t matter. It was still the best night of their lives. At one point that night, John texted his friends: “I think I just met my future wife.” Since then, they’ve gone on to have the best night of their lives again and again - together.

The Proposal

John had been planning the proposal for months. The ring stayed hidden in the pocket of his coat, worn close to his heart for weeks before he asked the question. His hope was simple — that it would absorb as much of his love as possible before the moment finally arrived. He was probably acting a little strange during that time. It’s hard to focus on today when you’re thinking about forever. The plan itself was simple but perfect. John arranged with their favorite breakfast spot to help make the moment special. The idea was to have a plate of pancakes delivered to the table spelling out two words: Marry Me? The night before, Victoria casually suggested they go there for breakfast. “What a great idea,” John said — pretending it wasn’t the plan all along. The morning of the proposal was the Saturday after Valentine’s Day. Victoria showed up just as she was: no makeup, no elaborate hairstyle — just a sweater and a smile. To John, it was everything he could have ever hoped for. Just before the special pancakes were about to arrive, Victoria suddenly stood up. “I have to go fix my hair,” she said. “No you’re not,” John replied, just as the owner of the restaurant walked over carrying the plate. Shock and happiness immediately covered her face. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. John got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes. The entire restaurant erupted in cheers as the two of them celebrated the moment together. John was relieved that the surprise had worked — especially since Victoria was usually the one known for surprising him.
