We met in the most modern time of ways possible. However, it would not have happened without having similarities in spiritual faith and culture. It happened at the most unexpected of times in the most least expected of ways for either of us, and those who know us well can attest to this. He was confident in his feelings but I took longer to detach from my inner fears, but faith in God got us here. It did not take more than one over the phone conversation for us to realize how much we had in common and surprised us more that we had yet to cross paths. On 01.01.23, I arrived back in the U.S after holidays with the family and he surprised me by driving from Ohio to Chicago to pick me up at the airport so that our first in-person meet would be the first day of the new year! On that day, we just knew we were meant to be!

The more in depth story is for us to have as keepsake and for you to keep wondering. On this day is what we signify as our engagement day. Our families gave us their blessings. Both ends were over the moon about our relationship and what the future holds for us and that meant everything to us. In this moment, at my house and in front of all our loved ones, a beautiful ring was blessed and my fiancé went down on his knees and expressed his love, as he always does, as he asked me to be his life long partner. There was never an ounce of doubt that I was going to say yes! A special moment that will stay in our memories forever!
