Alison and I first met on the pool deck. As cliche as this sounds I remember seeing her on the pool deck at Frederick High school coming out of the women's locker room and thinking to myself, "oh my god she is absolutely gorgeous." I was very shy in high school so it took me a long time to really introduce myself to her because well she was in the fast lane, and I was certainly not. Eventually I worked my way up that direction in the lanes. After a few months, I worked my way into the inner circle of friends on the team. I had a massive crush on her. Even when I had other girlfriends in high school she was always there for me in the background. This one time Alison got me in hot water with a girlfriend when she kissed me on the cheek. It was at that point, I knew I wanted to be with her. I tried to woo her for a few months and I really thought I was suave and doing a damn good job. We were texting back and forth a ton (I had her contact saved as FOXy Cleopatra because I thought she was smoking and I thought I was funny). Alison made it very clear that she was not and would not ever be interested in me. This banter continued for a long time, with me pursuing for a while then backing off all while being "just friends". I brought her Chipotle one summer day after she was having some guy problems when she was working as a lifeguard and I like to think this was one of the moments that finally made her cave. Then my sophomore year of college after many failed attempts she finally said yes to going on a date and being "official". She will tell you that she only said yes to get me off her back but I knew then that it was the start of something very special. I am so excited to share the rest of my life with her. That's my best friend in the whole world and as crazy as she makes me... I love her a million times more.
Chris and I met in the summer of 2006, and to be honest, I don’t remember much about our first interactions. I was a rising junior and he was a rising sophomore and we didn’t even go to the same school. I was developing a pretty close knit group of friends on the club team for which we both swam and he had his own friends. He wasn’t my typical kind of guy. I thought he was a little goofy and he always tried a little too hard to be cool. One of my earliest memories took place at the Frederick High School pool. I was in lane 6 and he was in lane 1, he will correct me if I’m wrong, but I started singing Scotty Doesn’t Know by Lustra, and from across the pool he belts out the chorus. We definitely bonded over that, and we still love to sing it at the top of our lungs. A few years passed by and Christopher continued to pursue me ever so patiently. On September 9, 2010 I finally agreed to make things official. I like to tell people we’ve been inseparable ever since ;) I am so thankful he asked me to spend forever with him. I can’t wait to see what our future holds and I am so ready for life's greatest adventure.
