Question

What should I know before booking a taxi in Costa Rica?

Answer

The biggest piece of advice is to always make sure to only ride with registered Costa Rican taxi drivers. It is not unusual for several people to ask you at the airport if you need a taxi. Unfortunately, some of these people are not legal taxi drivers and will overcharge you. You can always recognize official Costa Rican taxis because they are all red vehicles with a yellow triangle on the roof, driver’s side door, and front passenger side door. This yellow triangle contains their official taxi number. (We also have a link to book a private or shared airport shuttle on our "Travel page")

Question

What should I use to navigate while in Costa Rica?

Answer

Waze and Google Maps work best in Costa! Apple Maps does not work here.

Question

How to contact people while in Costa Rica?

Answer

Please confirm with your phone provider on your available international plan. Also be sure to download WhatsApp- this will be the most common method of communication for locals.

Question

Whom should I reach out to with wedding questions?

Answer

Please contact our wedding planner assistants, Mariela and Cris at team@redvelvetweddingscr.com. They’re the best!
