Zach ended up at UNCC after he transferred from Howard Junior College in Texas and I came from Barry University in Florida. Despite the distance that had between us for our entire lives the main factor that brought us together (if you know either of us you know exactly what I'm about to say) was SPORTS! It was fate we were both pitchers... I mean whats better than that?? After we left for summer that year Zach messaged me on snapchat and wanted to hang out. So we went out to eat at a restaurant in NODA called Cabo Fish Taco. I knew he was a keeper after this date! After that date we talked everyday for two months because Zach went out of town and when he came back to Charlotte in August things really started falling into place. We went to a Keith Urban concert with all of our friends and it was perfect!! Still one of my favorite times with him he kept playing the song "Good Thing" by Keith Urban and saying this song reminds me of us. I think after that concert we both knew we liked each other ...... ALOT!!! After the concert a few weeks later Zach asked me to be his girlfriend and of course I said yes!!
Well before I tell the whole story lets just say I think EVERYONE knew about the proposal but me!!! One day at practice Coach Devos asked me and Haley Pace (come to find out she was just the decoy) to throw out the first pitch at the baseball game to honor our careers as Niners. We both agreed to it and after practice I called Zach to tell him and he said I quote "Why thats dumb why would they ask you to do that." Me being me said "OMG Zach can you please just be happy for me." Little did I know he was just playing along with the plan he had created!!! So the day came of the game and Zach had graduation that morning and each of our families were there!! Me and Haley Pace went out on to the field (I was kinda wondering why the whole team and coaches were there because we were only throwing out a first pitch) the announcer read out some career stats about each of us and we threw out the pitch. Zach came out to give me the ball and I thanked him for catching me and he had to tell me to read the ball.... it read: "Will you Marry Me?" Of course I said yes!!!!!! To make this moment ever better he arranged for our song Grow Old With Me to play in the background. Everyone we knew in Charlotte was there to help us celebrate and our friends threw us a party afterwards!!! That day was one of the best of my life!
