On January 14, 2023, Kaylee stumbled across Darren’s dating profile during a girls night at her apartment. Do we have things in common? Check! Does he have a good job? Check! He has a beagle in his first picture? Bonus points! Kaylee posed her next question to her friends- “Do we think we see me with a man who has a man bun & snake bite piercings?!” Her friend Kara encouraged her, noting that he’s a cute guy and if he’s the right one, I probably wouldn’t even notice. A week later Darren and Kaylee met for the first time at Tommy’s Tavern Tap in Clifton during the NFL playoffs. After 4 hours of getting to know one another, they knew there was something there because neither one was focused on the playoffs happening around them. 3 months in- with meeting each other's families & friends, Yankee games, a Star Wars marathon, and dozens of dates Darren asked Kaylee to be “official” on April 22, 2023 at Eddie V’s steakhouse. Over the last 2 years the happy couple have learned to navigate through each other’s ups and downs, gone on weekend getaways, started a wellness journey, hosted holiday parties, moved in together, & got a sweet rescue fur baby- Dixie. All signs pointed towards taking the next step in their relationship together. On August 23, 2025 what was supposed to be a friend’s birthday celebration- was actually a surprise engagement planned by Darren for weeks. Surrounded by their closest friends at Angry Orchard Cidery on a tour of the orchard, Darren dropped to one knee and asked if Kaylee would marry him. They spent the rest of the day celebrating with some of their loved ones at their “Faria Tale” engagement party. Both Darren & Kaylee are so incredibly happy to start their next chapter and celebrate with their family & friends on January 8, 2027.
