Staunton State Park is one of Colorado's newest state parks. It's also directly across the street from the wedding venue. Many of the trails on the front side are mild and relatively flat. The deeper you go, the higher you'll go, and the better the views. We often hike the Staunton Ranch, Mason Creek, and Bear Paw trails. Mason Creek is fairly steep and can be rocky and technical for the first 0.75 miles. Bear Paw has stunning views of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains. Staunton Ranch meanders across the length of the park. For those looking for a relaxing stroll, try Staunton Ranch or the Davis Ponds loop. Staunton is a hub for mountain biking and can be especially crowded on Saturday and Sunday mornings. To miss the crowds, try 3 p.m. or later. Evergreen Lake is approximately 35 minutes from both Pine and downtown Denver. This special place offers fishing, boating, paddleboarding, and on-the-water yoga, as well an an easy walking trail along the shore. The lake is a short walk from downtown Evergreen where you can find plenty of bars, coffee shops, and boutiques.
This was the first place Maddy and Aedan went hiking together way back in high school! Since then, it has continued to be a favorite for evening dog hikes, trail runs, and mountain biking. There are a variety of trails ranging from a leisurely stole around the lake to a good uphill climb to get amazing views!
About an hour and a half outside of Denver. While on this beautiful drive, make sure to keep your eyes out for the resident elk herds!
This walk along the red rocks is great for both kiddos and adults. Walk along the dinosaurs that roamed Colorado and take in the views down on Denver!
Red Rocks is about 30 minutes from both Pine and Denver, and in our opinion, is the very best place for both concerts and a day of exploring! They have a jam-packed concert schedule all summer long, and well as hiking trails throughout the property. When there aren't concerts going on, its common to see people playing their own little shows on the big stage, people running and doing yoga on the amphitheater steps, and others just hanging out enjoying the views over Denver!
