It's as cliche as it gets. Our friendship began during our early college days and progressed into a bond that I couldn't live without. When the timing was right he became more than a friend. He had become my person, my soulmate, my everything. He asked my father permission to date me on 12.15.19. We didn't know it at the time we met, but we were destined for each other.

Before Danny and I had a place of our own we were staying with my parents. One night we had Danny’s‘s parents over for dinner. He asked me to get all dressed up, which I thought was odd because we'd seen his parents loads of times in sweats and a t-shirt. When they arrived he asked me to come outside with him, again weird, and welcome them in. Little did I know he had his mom and sisters sprinkle rose petals on the grass in the shape of a heart and was holding out his hand for me to join him in the middle. It was pitch black outside so his family had to hold their phone flashlights up just so we could see each other. He grabbed my hand, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. Simple as that.
