FAQs

If you have other questions we haven't answered here, feel free to email us at adventurewedding2019@gmail.com or call our parents!
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Please come in cocktail attire. The barn has both heat and ventilation, but October weather in Michigan can be unpredictable. We suggest you bring a jacket or cover-up in case it’s chilly! The barn has a floor, but the seating for the ceremony will be on grass, so you may be uncomfortable in heels.

Question

Is there transportation between the hotels & ceremony?

Answer

No, there will not be transportation provided. There is a large parking lot, and if you have a few too many drinks, you are welcome to leave your car overnight, ride back to the hotel with someone else, and pick up your car in the morning.

Question

May we take photos at your wedding?

Answer

We have an excellent photographer, Adrienne Dennis, to take photos. With that in mind, please keep your phone away so she can get the best shots possible. You're welcome to take photos during our reception. We'd love for you to share your shots (even selfies!) with us by emailing us at adventurewedding2019@gmail.com or by using our hashtag, #perfectforpeach .

Question

May we bring our children? What about a date?

Answer

We love kids, but our wedding venue is not suited to children. We can recommend several sitters in Kalamazoo, and your children are welcome to attend other events! If your invitation states your partner's name or says "and guest," please RSVP for them as well. If not, we would prefer to see just you.

Question

Where are you going on your honeymoon?

Answer

Great question, and we’re glad you asked! In the summer of 2020, we will head to Spain to walk the Camino de Santiago. It is a pre-Christian pilgrimage across 500 miles, traveling from St-Jean-Pied-de-Port (in France) to Santiago de Compostela (in Spain). In Catholic tradition, Santiago de Compostela is where the bones of Saint James (Santiago) lie. It is now one of the most popular routes for hikers of all religions, with over 325,000 pilgrims completing at least 100 km in 2018. We will be walking for about 35 days, averaging around 12 miles (6 hours) per day. Most pilgrims stay in albergues, hostels that can be accessed with a stamped pilgrim’s passport. The day’s walking begins before sunrise, to take advantage of the cooler weather, and wraps up in the early afternoon when it gets quite hot. For our trip, we need some new hiking gear like boots and backpacks. If you’d like to help support our trip, you can make a gift to the cash funds on our Zola registry. Thanks so much!
