Matron of Honor
Sister of the bride We grew up fighting all the time, but we get along these days. We share similar sensibilities in many ways, including our senses of humor and sailor's mouths. Not to mention, we often share a brain and say things simultaneously, unintentionally. I couldn't imagine her not being by my side on my wedding day.
Bridesmaid
Friend of the bride Amanda and I met way back in 5th grade at Starland Roller Rink at a birthday party for her cousin and my classmate. We hit it off because we both had the same silk-screened shirt from Ocean City. We ended up going to middle & high school together and became best friends. I was in her wedding several years ago and now I could not be happier that she will be in mine.
Bridesmaid
Friend of the bride Eileen and I met in line at a Matt Nathanson show when I sneezed. If you know how much I sneeze, it's never just one. So after a handful, she blessed me, but cracked a joke in doing so. That opened the door and we hit it off. She's the first one who texted me after my first date with Phil to make sure I wasn't dead (all the while planning what she would say to People magazine were I to end up missing). She is one of my favorite people who always makes me laugh and I'm excited to have her there for our special day.
Officiant
Bridget is neither a Reverend or a Deacon, but that's the name we've dubbed her. Bridget & Megan met in line at an Andrew McMahon show (sensing a theme here about Megan's spare time?). They have a shared love of music, dogs, travel, and garden gnomes. Bridget came to visit Megan for a run of shows in 2018 and met Phil at that time. She quickly welcomed him into the fold of concert crazies. Megan and Philip were talking about future wedding plans with Bridget one night and it was decided she would get ordained and officiate our wedding. Thus, The Reverend Deacon Bridget Reilly was born. We love that one of our "sister wives" will be doing the honors of uniting us in matrimony.
Best Man
Philip and Grant met in 2005 when they both worked at RSC Equipment Rentals. Initially they were friends until Grant stole Phil’s territory. For awhile, Grant was NOT Phil’s favorite person, but they eventually mended fences. It was like the two kids on the playground who get into a fight and then become best friends... that’s these two. Their boss at CAT now refers to each of them as the others’ work husband. We are so excited that Grant will be the Best Man when his “husband” gets married to someone outside of work.
Groomsman
Matthew and Philip met at Alban CAT. Matthew was this long haired, bearded, loud fella from Louisiana. They immediately bonded over their affinity for machines, trucks, cars, and the fact that Matthew refers to a lot of things as “janky.” He’s a larger than life Ragin’ Cajun who actually told Phil that he needed to get on Bumble and find himself a good woman. So, you could say Matthew has a significant role in our relationship and now he has one when we walk down the aisle.
Groomsman
Brandon and Philip met through the Northern Virginia Mustang Club. Brandon had a personalized license plate that said “Goo Fast.” His intention was that it was Gooooooooo (long o) Fast, but to anyone else, it said “goo.” That was how Brandon became known to the others, as “goo fast.” They took their first trip to Mustang Week together around 2007 and have done all kinds of car things ever since.
Groomsman
Philip has been a slacker in gathering his side of the wedding party. So for now, enjoy this picture of a squirrel who may or may not actually be in the wedding party if the groom doesn't get his act together.
