Maid of Honor
Kelly has known Melissa for approximately 26 years, in fact they actually came from the same womb. Melissa used to “live” with Kelly and Joe once a week when her commute to work was over an hour long. During those nights, dubbed “Marvel Mondays,” Melissa and Kelly would choose the movie (despite what Joe wanted) and then fall asleep within 3 minutes (that’s being generous- it was usually 30 seconds in). She is the baby sister to Lauren and Kelly and likes to think she is the favorite (however, it is clear as day Kelly though). Mel is Kelly’s go to when she is in a pickle, and for that she owes her an unfathomable economy sized ton.
Best Man
Papa bear, Big Papa, Mr. Moffett, Papa Moff, and simply Dad. Joe and his Dad have a friendship that is uncommon for a Father and son…Joe is the nerd and Joe’s Dad is super cool, but nevertheless they talk almost everyday. In fact, Joe’s dad always knows when Joe is away on a work trip because he won't get his daily sports talk phone call during Joe’s lunch break. Despite their differences whenever people meet Joe’s Dad they say they are basically the same person (we can only hope Joe ages as well as his dad). The true Guardian of Joe’s Galaxy, Dad is always watching over him and ready to help whenever and however he can. A Celestial, the old man is quick with his wit, hardworking, and willing to bend the rules to have a good time.
Maid of Honor
Kelly has known Lauren for approximately 27 years. She is a flower child by nature and is always beating to her own drum. She fits the definition of middle child to a “T.” If the Grateful Dead had a time machine and somehow returned to tour we would most likely never see Lauren again. She is super crafty and wicked good at hula hooping. For the past year she has been a member of AmeriCorps and has been trying to make the world a better place one school at a time. Her family could not be more proud. She is quite quippy and always has a dad joke up her sleeve.
Best Man
Danny is the light hearted wild man in the group. Joe’s Dad described the relationship between Dan and Joe probably the best and simply put: Spongebob and Patrick. “Ooh, East, I thought you said Weast.” Living less than a mile apart most of their lives, but not meeting until high school, it was cheeseballs and boredom that brought these two together. Joe and Dan lived together through most of college. One eventful story started with... error: story not suitable for wedding website ...and that’s how they got out of that speeding ticket on their way to Lake Burton. There through the best and worst times, Danny is like a brother to Joe and with the unique ability to make the party in the best times and lighten the tension in the worst times he is the Iron Man in their Avengers.
Bridesmaid
Steph aka KnasteP is one of Kelly’s fiercest friends with hair like a lion and the heart of lamb. They were roommates at Lycoming college and became dance partners for life. Kelly considers Steph a person she can call at any moment to help Kelly out of any and all felonious situations (mainly because she forced Kelly to awkwardly pose in countless photography projects at Lycoming and she owes her).
Groomsman
Brian Carney is Joe’s most thoughtful friend. He knows every birthday, important date, and the perfect gift for all his friends for all occasions. Carney, Joe’s longstanding adventure buddy has seen more of the world in 5 years than some people will ever see in a lifetime. Carney was also Joe’s first and only roommate in Philly when Joe met Kelly. She was unsure whether or not Carney had a first name for the first few months of dating Joe. They still joke that they started dating and are getting married merely because Joe needed a temporary Carney replacement. Carney is actually the First Avenger holding our group together as the true strategist while being a part time model for Chubbies (make sure to check out his manly thighs made of steel at the wedding).
Bridesmaid
Ashley is one of Kelly’s oldest friends who isn’t family, which says a lot because she’s not actually required to be her friend. They go way back to the days when Kelly would convince Ashley that her curfew was merely a suggestion, and Ashley would consistently get grounded. They share a passionate love for the Philadelphia Eagles. They once burned a lifesize cut out of Donovan McNabb in the streets of Upper Township after their 2004 loss. Ash says she manages Enterprise but she’s actually a master dog trainer who once out rapped Vanilla Ice himself. Expect her to rap at the wedding.
Groomsman
Steve is by far the most active and reliable person Joe knows. Fun fact: he and Joe were extras in the movie “Backwards” together with extremely invigorating roles (Joe made Kelly watch the movie Backwards multiple times, aka too many). If something needs to be done, you call Steve. Not only is he willing to help, but he likely has done it or knows how to do it. The most recent “Steve the Savior” moment came when Joe managed to make a dire mistake in Spain by putting diesel into a car with a gas engine. Steve was there for advice on what to do, as well as emotional and moral support. Always there at the right time and just when you need him, he comes flying in glowing white with lightning flowing through his glorious beard, he is the Avenger worthy of carrying Thor’s hammer.
Bridesmaid
Andrea is Kelly's work wife. She also has hair like a lion (seems to be a common trend) and plays the harp like an angel baby. They kindled their friendship over their love for the huge duck at the Tall Ships Festival and they haven't turned back since. They share a love for the elderly and are equally easily excitable humans.
Groomsman
Mydog is one of a kind. Besides being the most easygoing and relaxed guy there is, he is a beast that you want on your team for any backyard game OR the guy you definitely don’t want to play against. He can make any game more compelling with natural talent while holding a martini in his hand. Myers is one of only a few friends that Joe has that also works in a typical 9 - 5 business job. Due to this incredibly poor life choice they both made, they do not get to revel in “Teacher Summer.” If Myers needs to be the Hulk, “The Strongest Avenger”, he can be, he’s always there to help finish the leftovers and will back up any one of his guys, but like Bruce Banner he is calm, cool, and collected.
Bridesmaid
Theresa doesn’t have a ton of nicknames that are commonly used, but one is Tree, which is perfect because she is an immovable, stubborn, stump. To be clear, that is meant in a positive way (even if it can be to a fault sometimes...) Theresa and Joe’s relationship in a nutshell: love and support paired with little to no shared interests (excluding their unique ability to team up on their poor and unsuspecting parents). Kelly is super excited to gain her as a sister and the two of them look forward to the day when Ryan and Emily can babysit for them. Joe would never say this to her face, but she is a wonderful person, he is extremely proud of her, and there is no one in the world he’d rather have as his sister.
Groomsman
The Father to Joe’s amazing Niece and Nephew, Joe DeVecchis became the 3rd Joe in the Moffett family. True, he kept the DeVecchis name, and Theresa became a DeVecchis, but make no mistake Joe became a Moffett when he joined the family way back in 2002. A family man if there ever was one, Joe loves his wife and kids and even Joey Moffett (more than he’d ever admit). Joe is charismatic and draws people into his web, he is loved by everyone that meets him. With a strong sense for family, community (coaching every Twp team sport), and duty, Joe is Washington Township’s Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Unlike Peter Parker, this Avenger can polish off a couple glasses of scotch, with ease.
Flower Girl
Charlotte is the cutest combo of the best people in the entire universe. She will be making her flower girl debut with a choreographed lineup to the tune of Get Low by Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz.
Flower Girl
AKA the FLOWER NINJA. WATCH OUT we are unsure what she will do walking down the aisle. Potentially expect a fistful of flowers to the FACE.
Ring Security
Kelly and Joe trust Ryan with more than just the ring. He is probably more responsible than the both of them combined.
