Welcome to our wedding website! Thank you so much for visiting! This is the place you'll find every piece of information you will need regarding our wedding celebration. Our wedding will be taking place at the Liriodendron Mansion in Bel Air, Maryland on May 20, 2019. We decided we wanted an intimate wedding with our closest friends and family and Liriodendron Mansion was the perfect romantic spot to celebrate this special occasion. So mark your calendars because we would love for you to come celebrate with us! Carmen and Kevin
We met at Carmen's sister, Carol's birthday party, at Bond Street Social in Baltimore, Maryland. Carol has a habit of introducing all of the single people to each other. We didn't chat much until the night was winding down. After chatting for a week on social media, Kevin took the chance and asked for Carmen's number (Kevin thought it was smooth, Carmen thought it was cheesy). We've been head over heels with each other ever since!
In 2017, Kevin and Carmen planned their first major vacation overseas. In the months prior to the trip, Kevin set to work on a surprise proposal while they took the sights in in Iceland. With the help of Carmen's sister, Carol, we set to work making the perfect engagement ring. The day the ring was purchased and picked up, Kevin felt a great weight on his back. For weeks he complained about back pain. He would say it was because of the bed, but really, with a great ring, comes a great responsibility. On the first day in Iceland, Kevin planned on proposing but unfortunately, we fell asleep and didn't wake up until late at night. We ventured into Reykjavik to find the city alive and thriving with a national holiday. We followed the crowd down to the bay and suddenly among thousands, fireworks erupted on all sides of us. Knowing Carmen wanted a secluded proposal, Kevin held back and we enjoy the show and a late night snack at the local food trucks. The next day, we drove several hours away to the opposite side of Iceland to a well known but secluded gorge. We crossed a chilly river and Kevin set the stage. In what felt like a moment, we were posing for a photo and suddenly he was in front, asking for Carmen's hand in marriage. Carmen was so surprised, she didn't even reply but laughed nervously. After asking for her hand a second time, she finally said yes and the moment that the ring was on Carmen's finger, the pain in Kevin's back was gone.
