we feel confident that by the end of august, we will be able to include all of you in our celebration, and we are SO excited! that said, we are asking that all guests ensure all bookings are refundable, should anything change, and be vaccinated prior to arrival. we care deeply about each of you and want our wedding to feel safe for all to attend, including our grandparents and other vulnerable populations. we appreciate your understanding!
short answer: variable. while we chose a weekend in august to maximize our chances at a warm summer wedding, pack for warm days, cool evenings, rain, sun, wind, likely no snow...think like a coloradan and layer up!
mooselookmeguntic and rangeley are neighboring lakes connected by a very small channel. oquossoc and rangeley are neighboring towns. some events will take place at bald mountain camps on mooselookmeguntic, so if you'd like to be close and/or be able to drive your boat over to say hi, rent a house on mooselook. the ceremony will take place on rangeley lake. we will provide transportation to and from the ceremony & reception, everything falls within 15 minutes of each other.
travel to and from the rehearsal dinner will be shared with impacted parties. for the ceremony & reception, we'll run a bus from BMC and town at a set times and another bus to after party. more details to come here. for all other transportation needs, we're gathering a list of local driver numbers and will share them shortly.
anna grew up spending summers on this lake with her family and friends. little did we know at the time, but alex also grew up spending summers on a lake in maine, just about an hour's drive away from here. in the nine years we've dated, we have yet to miss a summer in the sticks of maine together. we recognize this is likely a large financial and time commitment to join us and completely respect if it just isn't in the cards for you or your family. we promise to love you anyway!
likely more rustic than you're used to! oquossoc and rangeley are both very small (neighboring) towns in rural maine. cell service is mediocre to poor. there are lots of different housing options for all different budgets. we recommend checking out our "travel & accommodations" page for more info. things move a little slower out here- just the way we like it! we hope you love it just as much as we do.
we want you all to be comfortable and warm. we'll be dressed to the nines (duh), but don't expect everyone else to be. activewear during the day and sundresses and button-downs at night are completely acceptable. for the ceremony and reception, we expect most folks to be in festive cocktail attire, but seriously, you do you. most importantly, dress to dance!
