Adrienne and Cameron both grew up in Newport Beach and shared mutual friends, however they didn’t actually meet until later in life. They were active junior sailors and likely crossed paths at regattas many times. They graduated from rival high schools in Newport before venturing to opposite ends of the country for college. As they got older they gravitated toward life on the water and independently chose the same career in youth sailing education. Eventually they both found their way back to their hometown and landed jobs at neighboring yacht clubs in Corona del Mar. One of their mutual friends made the initial introduction and they got to know each other as the “Director Next Door.” Whenever they were together in a group they always seemed to be the ones talking. Over the next year and a half they continued to spend time together in the workplace and felt a growing connection. In the Spring of 2018, Cameron took a chance and stole a kiss at a concert which began several months of courtship as Adrienne played hard to get. After many long phone conversations and text message threads they both realized they were meant for each other. Although nothing was 'official' yet, Cameron invited Adrienne to his housewarming party earlier than the other guests to help get everything ready. Here she met his parents and brothers and instantly hit it off with his family. From that point on they were inseparable and it felt like they had known each other their whole lives. A few months later Adrienne left her Newport apartment to move into Cameron's Long Beach home. The next year went by quickly with the addition of their puppy Dakota and new jobs for both of them. In September 2019, they took a trip to one of Adrienne’s favorite places on earth: the north shore of Kauai. It was Cameron’s first time to Hawaii so she had lots to show him, but he had a surprise of his own. It was there on Secrets Beach where he took a knee and asked her to marry him!
