Adrienne’s Perspective We first came across each other on Twitter and eventually met on our college campus. At the time, it felt casual. I noticed a potential friendship forming through our shared interest in photography, especially as we spent more time together with the Black Student Union Public Relations Committee. We bonded over photography, thrifting, and a deep commitment to our faith. At some point, it quietly clicked for me. I began to see the possibility of a future with him, something I shared only with a few close friends, some of whom now stand beside us on our wedding day. Yusef’s Perspective What started as a natural connection slowly grew into something deeper. One night, alone in a community room in one of our dorms, we talked until the sun came up. Those conversations revealed how aligned we truly were. Toward the end of the year, I knew I wanted to be intentional. I asked Adrienne to enter into courtship with me, and shortly after, we made our relationship official. Together The seven years that followed have been filled with endless thrift runs, road trips, flights, photoshoots, and most importantly, love. Rooted in faith, friendship, and intention, getting married was never a matter of if, but when.
