Travel Note
Whidbey Island is accessible with or without taking a ferry. Ferry: the Mukilteo to Clinton Ferry, which will drop you off on the SE side of the Island. This route takes about one hour from downtown Seattle, depending on ferry wait times. Driving: (from Seattle) take I5 North past Mount Vernon, WA, then take SR 20 W, which will take you across the Deception Pass Bridge (a beautiful view!) and down to the island. This route is about an hour longer than taking the ferry (~2 hrs from downtown Seattle), depending on the ferry wait times. IF YOU WILL BE ARRIVING ON SATURDAY: There will likely be heavy traffic on the ferry route due to the holiday weekend. We suggest avoiding the ferry and taking the driving route instead to avoid delays.
Travel Note
The Mukilteo to Clinton ferry route takes ~20 minutes and is available to both cars and passengers on a first come first serve basis (no reservations). Because the wedding is on a holiday weekend, we recommend leaving extra travel time if you take the ferry or potentially avoiding the ferry altogether as there will likely be a wait (whatever you do, do not cut the ferry line!). Ferry lines tend to be shorter in the early mornings or later evenings. You can view current availability for the Mukilteo to Clinton ferry here: https://wsdot.com/ferries/vesselwatch/TerminalDetail.aspx?terminalid=14 And this link will bring you to the Mukilteo <> Clinton timetables: https://wsdot.com/Ferries/Schedule/scheduledetail.aspx?departingterm=14&arrivingterm=5&roundtrip=true _______________________________________________________ IF YOU WILL BE TRAVELING FROM THE SOUTHWEST WA/PORTLAND AREA: Consider driving to Port Townsend, WA (instead of through Seattle) and taking the Port Townsend <> Coupeville ferry. The Port Townsend to Coupeville ferry runs ~11 times per day and allows reservations to ensure you WILL have a spot on a specific ferry. This ferry route will also likely be less crowded than the Mukilteo <> Clinton route. If you choose this route, be sure to book a ferry reservation as soon as possible, as space on the ferries fills up as the date gets closer. The following link has timetables reservation instructions for the Port Townsend <> Coupeville route: https://wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/scheduledetailbyroute.aspx?route=pt-key
Flight
You have the option of flying into two different airports: Seattle-Tacoma (SEA) or Paine Field (PAE). SEA is Seattle's primary international airport that serves all major airlines and is ~45 mins (without traffic) South of the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal. PAE is a smaller airport that primarily serves Alaska and American airlines and is ~15 minutes South of the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal.
Travel Note
There are several Airbnb's, B&Bs, and hotels (links to two nearby hotels are below) available across Whidbey Island. Because the wedding is over Labor Day weekend, hotels and rentals on the island will fill up so we recommend booking your lodging as soon as possible. If you plan to arrive on Saturday and cannot check in to your hotel/b&b early, reach out to Adrienne or Nick as you will be able to drop your bags, etc. off at their rental house.

Travel Note
We highly driving or renting a car to Whidbey Island. Ubers/Lyfts are not particularly reliable on the island (long wait times since there aren't many of them). So if you need a ride somewhere, your best bet will be a cab. Here are a few options: Coupeville Cab Company: 360.678.6666 https://whidbeycamanoislands.com/taxi_car/coupeville-cab-company/ South Whidbey Taxi: 360-678-6666 https://southwhidbeytaxi.com/
