We first met in Richmond during the summer of 2018 when Adrienne was entering her 2nd year of PT school and Matt was entering his 2nd year of medical school at VCU (Go Rams!) Our first date was at the Quirk Hotel rooftop where we got caught up in conversation and spent four hours together, accidentally staying passed closing time. Our next few dates included attending the Richmond Flying Squirrels baseball games, going to the county fair, and exploring many of Richmond’s amazing restaurants, bars and breweries. On New Years Day of 2020, Adrienne “temporarily” moved in with Matt as she had a clinical rotation back in Richmond. When the pandemic hit, our clinical rotations were interrupted. With more free time, we spontaneously, I mean, “decisively,” decided to adopt our puppy, Remy, and move into an apartment in The Fan in Richmond soon after (because the puppy needed a yard, of course!) In spring of 2021, Matt matched into the neurosurgery residency program at the University of Buffalo and Adrienne and Remy couldn’t wait to join Matt on his next great adventure (it’s a good thing Remy loves the snow!) When visiting friends and family in Virginia in May of 2022, Matt proposed in the sculpture garden of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) in Richmond. The VMFA is a special place to us, as it was one of our very favorite places to spend time with our friends and Remy during our time in Richmond. We recently bought a house (“château de Remy”) in Buffalo and are looking forward to celebrating the beginning of the rest of our lives together with our closest friends and family in Virginia on October 14, 2023.
