Question

Do I need a passport to travel to Jamaica?

Answer

As an American citizen the answer is YES! Please double check to make sure your passport does not expire after May 2024 as you will not be permitted to travel within 6 months remaining of an expiration date. As of Nov 6, 2023, passports are taking 7-10 weeks for routine applications and 3-5 weeks for expedited applications. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/passports/passport-processing-updates.html

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by March 31, 2024.

Question

What if I don't RSVP in time?

Answer

Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate you if you RSVP late. We will need to provide our vendors and the venue the exact guest count. While we will send out reminders, as well as send out invitations early, please be sure to RSVP as soon as possible.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We LOVE your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged ceremony" (no phones or cameras). We have hired professionals to capture this moment for us and we promise to share our phots as soon as we receive them. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you'd like.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We'd love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day. Dress code is cocktail attire. Ladies can wear tea-length, midi formal dresses. Gentlemen can wear a suit and tie. Please no athletic footwear and/or jeans.

Question

When is the best time to purchase my flight?

Answer

Ultimately the decision is up to you, but it has been recommended that June-Sept is the sweet spot for best prices. I strongly encourage the use of Google flights to monitor the fares so you can make the most informed decision.

Question

What are the lodging arrangements?

Answer

We have room blocks at The Grand Palladium which is 15 mins away (by car) from the wedding venue. You can find the details within the Travel heading. We are working to secure a shuttle service to and from the venue if you are staying at the The Grand Palladium. If you choose to stay elsewhere, you are solely responsible for your transportation to and from the wedding venue. For airport transfers, you will be able to book that along with your room.

Question

I've never been to Jamaica, what should I expect?

Answer

Jamaica is a beautiful country visited by over 3 million people in 2022. As with traveling anywhere, it is important to remain vigilant. Here are a few tips to keep in mind: 1. Credit/Debit cards are widely accepted. However, it is still a good idea to bring a few small USD denomination bills if possible or exchange to JD. 2. If you choose to leave the resort, it is best to coordinate transport via the hotel. Otherwise, the red platted taxis are legally authorized to carry passengers. Always confirm the price before getting in or even when coordinating with a private driver. 3. You will likely be approached by people trying to ask for money or selling items. Some may be aggressively persistent in the hopes that you’ll buy whatever it is they’re selling just to be left alone; be firm yet polite in your refusals.

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

If you booked airport transfer with Grand Palladium, the pickup and drop off airport is Sangster International Airport (MBJ).
