The Wedding Website of Adrienne Antonson and Jacob Allen
We've put some things here that we thought you may want the answers to. If there's anything we left out, please feel free to contact us!
Question

What's the weather going to be like on November 1st?

Answer

In Columbus, this time of year is hit or miss (60 degrees and sunny, 30 degrees and snowing, or anything in between), so we have contingency plans for the wedding day. Ideally, we will be outdoor for the ceremony, and both indoor and outdoor for the reception, but if the weather isn't great everything will be indoor. We recommend bringing one heavier/warmer layer that you can have if we are outdoors and that you can take off when we are indoors - there's a coat room in the barn. If you plan to stay for the weekend, pack layers in case of the cold/rain/snow, but bring some lighter clothes as well. Hopefully we will still have some lovely fall leaves for you all to see!

Question

What's the best way to get to-and-from the wedding?

Answer

There is parking on site, so if you have a car or are renting one for the weekend, you can drive right there and park. Please be responsible drivers and if you are not sober by the end of the evening, the venue allows you to leave your car in their parking lot overnight, as long as you pick it up the next morning between 8-10am. If you do not have a car, Uber and Lyft are the best way to get there and back.

Question

How rustic is the barn?

Answer

Actually, the only thing rustic about the Historic Barn is the aesthetics. There's central heating and AC, finished floors, nice bathrooms, and tons of space. There is the main area where tables and a dance space will be set up, and then outer rooms with the bar, food stations, coat closet, entry area, etc. If the weather permits, we will have fire pits and cocktail tables set up outside, along with lawn games and potentially another bar area - these areas are either concrete or gravel, and there's outdoor space heaters.

Question

How bad is the traffic in Columbus?

Answer

It can get bad during rush hour times (7-9am or 4-6pm) during weekdays, and the roads are generally more crowded on weekends. To get to your flight on time, we suggest giving yourself an extra 1/2 hour travel time just to be safe. The same goes for arriving to the wedding on time, if you are traveling from downtown - please prepare for an extra 15-20min travel time just in case traffic gets bad.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Please do! When you RSVP on the site, there will be an option for declaring for your guest as well, so please let us know who you're bringing!

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

We kindly ask that you leave your kids at home so you can party with us.

Question

Why is there no meal option with the RSVP? What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

The food will be from two different food trucks, wood-fired pizza and authentic mexican! You'll get to choose which truck you'd like to visit (or both of them)! Each will have a menu of at least 5 different options, so there will be something for everyone. Additionally, we know many of our family and friends have dietary restrictions (you can also remind us when you RSVP), so we've planned the menus to have options that will accommodate them - just tell the server in the truck, and they'll make it for you! If there's something specific you need, please just include it when you RSVP, so we can ensure the little kitchens are properly stocked (there's no extra fee for us, so please don't be shy)!

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

Of course! What a silly question! ;)

Question

When does the reception end?

Answer

The reception will end at 11:00pm (when the music stops). Although you don't need to leave immediately, the venue requires that everyone is gone by midnight (or we'll all turn into pumpkins!), so please arrange for a ride if necessary, or make sure you've sobered up by then!

Question

Should I stay in downtown Columbus or closer to the venue?

Answer

That depends on whether you want to stay on for the weekend events. If you are just coming for the wedding, it would be much easier to stay closer to the venue, which is still an easy 15-20min ride to-and-from the airport. There are two hotels we suggest (on the Travel tab) that are 8min from the venue (unfortunately there aren't many AirBnB options this close). If you want to stay for the Saturday events, we recommend that you stay closer to downtown as this is where we will be that day. For the wedding, we recommend that people staying downtown coordinate so you can share rides getting to-and-from the venue; Uber and Lyft are the best options.

Question

Do I have to stay through Saturday?

Answer

Not at all! Everything we planned for Saturday is optional, and we totally understand if you have to hit the road. The idea of planning things for Saturday was to give everyone the option of staying on to explore more of the city. You are also, of course, not obligated to do the events that we planned - there's tons of fun things to do in this city, so feel free to explore any other places that strike your fancy! We have recommended some places to visit in the answer directly below!

Question

What else should we see while we are in Columbus?

Answer

We will try to show you some of our favorite places on Saturday, but 1 day isn't enough! There is a really large (read: awesome!) craft/micro-brewery scene in Columbus, along with some great food! And if the weather is nice, we recommend checking out the Scioto Mile riverfront trail, which gives some amazing views of the city! Breweries: Platform (408 N. 6th St), Seventh Son ( 1101 N. 4th St), Antiques on High (714 S. High St), BrewDog (463 W. Town St), Hoof Hearted (850 N. 4th St), Parsons North (685 Parsons Ave), Rockmill Tavern (503 S. Front St), Somewhere in Particular (SIP: 5053 Dierker Rd), Wolf's Ridge (215 N. 4th St).
