Art lovers this is for you! The Speed is the oldest, largest and foremost museum in Kentucky and an excellent place to spend a few hours. Get lost among the art while checking out the current exhibit or one of their many collections.
Looking for an outdoor activity? Take in all the riverfront views while lounging or playing on Big Four Lawn. Better yet take a walk across the pedestrian bridge that links Kentucky to Indiana for a birds eye view of the Ohio River!
The 700 & 800 blocks of Main Street, better known as Museum Row, are home to a variety of museums for all ages. If you've got little ones in tow the Kentucky Science Center has a number of hands on exhibits that are sure to entertain. The Kentucky Museum of Arts and Crafts is a favorite of Adrienne's and participates in KMAC Couture, their annual wearable fashion show, each year! History buffs? Head on down to the Frazier History Museum. Or, if sports are more your thing then the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is for you!
Stop in at Please & Thank You for some of the city's best coffee and chocolate chip cookies. With your coffee in hand, stop in at some of the many local boutiques like Mahonia, Woman Owned Wallet, Peace of the Earth or Red Tree. Be sure to take a photo op in front of one of the murals in the area then grab a beer at a nearby breweries or a glass of bubbly on the lush patio of Nouvelle.
