We met through a friend in Fargo, ND about seven years ago. At the time, we decided to be friends. We stayed in contact, even when we moved to different areas. When I moved to Bemidji, MN for an internship, Sam decided to re-connect by visiting me. We soon started dating. Before we knew it, I was completing my internship, my graduate program, and buying a house with Sam in the Twin Cities. Last summer, we got engaged and now we are ready to be married. We are excited that you will be celebrating this part of our lives with us! -Adrienne
We speak often of how life guides us, or that some unseen force has influence over our destinies. Our story is one of how two people found each other through A Series of Most Fortunate Events. We come from different birth decades, different states, different areas of profession, and different areas of schooling. Yet we both found ourselves in a two bedroom apartment rented by mutual friends on one fateful night of wine, board games, and companionship. I quickly found myself overwhelmed with Adrienne as the night went on and I learned more and more about them. Adrienne was (and still remains to be) the most beautiful person I've met. Their sense of place in the world, sense of humor, passions, and general mannerisms are all infatuating. We dated for a few months in the summer of 2015, but made a mutual decision to continue our interactions as platonic friends. Although sad at the time (convinced I had found my ONE TRUE LOVE), I was completely content moving forward and having the opportunity to maintain a friendship with Adrienne. Fast forward through the next few years. We had moved to different states, and on to the next chapter in our lives. We both had other romances, significant life events, schooling, and changes in our professional careers. We remained in contact through social media, and even found a time or two while visiting others in Fargo to run into each other and catch up in person. This brings us to the Summer of 2020. We were in the middle of a pandemic, and the future had been deemed uncertain for most. I had seen on social media that Adrienne was back in Minnesota, which was some of the best news I had received in awhile. I reached out after a couple of relatable posts were made, and we ended up spending a weekend together in Bemidji. Within a 36 hour period, I knew the course of our lives had changed for the better. We now find ourselves to be wed in just a few months, all because of A Series of Most Fortunate Events. -Sam
