It was the first day of classes for me at Penn State. I sat off to the side and this guy walks in. I laughed in my head because I thought he wore his book bag a little to high and tight, and of course as the good student he is, he sat in the front row . This was the first time I saw him. I noticed him throughout our time in IST220, but didn't think anything of it. The semester was coming to an end and our professor announced he was looking for people to work in the IT department. 2 weeks later we were working together. I noticed him more and more throughout our summer of working together. We both had a crush but neither of us acted on it. I had been wanting to find a way to hang out so I mentioned the Penn State Veterans Day game. This is our long running joke between us, but he got the tickets. Now was the hard part for him. Asking me out! He walks up to my desk and asks if I would like to go to the game with him. It was about a month after our original conversation, so my first instinct was to ask "What game?". He, already ridiculously uncomfortable, says "the Penn State veterans day game". I was so excited he finally got the hint! The Penn State game was our first date.
We headed up to Niagara Falls for a spring break weekend getaway. I had absolutely no idea a proposal was in the works. He had already asked permission from my family and told friends and his family he had gotten the ring! That oh so lovely ring! I was in the dark. Friday March 9th,2018 we woke up and got ready as if it was any normal day. We decided to get up close and personal with the falls. We went through the underground tunnels behind the falls to start. When we came out it was snowing out. I wanted to get a picture in front of the falls with the snow falling. He walked to a random lady and whispered he was about to propose to just keep snapping pictures. As he is walking back with the ring around his finger( lucky I wasn't paying attention) his phone goes off. He has to walk back over, close the message notification, and walks back over. Since it's wet and freezing, as he walks back over and gets on one knee, I thought he slipped. So as he is down there trying to get his proposal on, I am trying to help him up! After it hit me that he was proposing, I am pretty sure I blacked out. I couldn't believe the man of my dreams was asking me to be his wife. I took my glove off, put my ring on, said yes and gave him the biggest hug and kiss ever! I had to walk around as I was in shock. I could hardly breathe. I refused to put my glove back on, even in the freezing cold, so I could admire my new addition! We left shortly after and went back to the hotel to call our parents and let them know we were officially ENGAGED!
