In college, at Loyola University of Maryland, Matt & Caroline were members of the male and female acapella groups which had a joint concert twice a year. They met in 2015 during Caroline’s freshman/Matt’s senior year through the groups. Caroline’s angelic voice was topped only by her beauty and Matt was smitten, but their love story would have to wait…Their journey did not truly begin until the spring of 2017. Matt had returned to campus to see one of the spring concerts and surprisingly managed to charm Caroline so much so that she did not say no when he asked her out on a date back in New York after she came home for the summer. That summer they enjoyed everything from Thai food to bowling, Yankee games to comedy shows, and even Boardy Barn (yikes.) As summer came to an end Matt & Caroline made it Facebook official and the rest is history. Today, Matt & Caroline are most notoriously known for their daily 4am wake-up for their early morning gym sessions. In the evening they enjoy eating out and trying new restaurants any chance they get. They love spending time with friends and family on the weekends and capping off the night re-watching the Harry Potter series. This past spring Matt & Caroline brought home their German Pinscher puppy, Albie, whom they love with all their hearts.

Matt’s proposal was one that not only signified entering the next chapter in life together, but it was also one that honored the start of their romance. Back in May of 2017, Matt and Caroline were unable to celebrate Mother’s Day with their families as they were both out of town. Matt took that opportunity to ask Caroline to dinner for the first time and “paint the town red”. To honor that first date they had on Mother’s Day in 2017, Matt decided to propose to Caroline on Mother’s Day 2022...5 years later, where they were surrounded by their families. Caroline was in such shock as she thought the focus of the day was going to be on their amazing mothers. She was completely surprised, overjoyed, and emotional all at once. The pouring rain was also a nice touch that really gave that fairytale Nicholas Sparks’ feel. It was the perfect proposal.
