How We Met

Our wonderful, amazing, stuuuupendous relationship starts where they all do, Tinder! Yes, we were two lucky individuals who found each other in the dreary world of online matchmaking; and we are so grateful. On December 14th, 2019, we went to a Nuggets game on our first date, which went according to schedule; Gee showed up an hour late after having to stay longer for her bartending job at the time. Although my biggest pet peeve is being late, I couldn’t have been happier when she got to my apartment and came walking up at 100 miles an hour, apologizing over and over. Once we got to the game (just as the game tipped off), it was only a short bit of time before she successfully spilled a White Claw on my brand new jersey. All things said, we had an absolutely great time getting to know each other, and realized we had something special going here. Eleven days later, I asked if she would be interested in going to the Christmas Night Nuggets game. When she inquired with her family, Neda stated, “he has to come here and meet the family”. I did, and thankfully, they approved! From there, we both had each other on our minds religiously texting, talking on the phone, and going on dates frequently. Of course, a virus uprooted everybody’s plans, and our new relationship was challenged with adversities of all sorts. We figured that if we could make it through this, we could face anything. Following a vacation to Florida in July 2020, Gee stayed with me for a couple weeks after picking me up from the airport due to the virus. Mere months into our relationship, and we already had a trial run of living together. Although some would say we moved fast, we were able to learn from each other and adapt to how one another lives. By September, we had moved in together. Our first home in Littleton, with my best friend Corey, his girlfriend Lauren, and their dog Peyton, catapulted this new chapter in our relationship. After living in Littleton for 3 years and growing our relationship, we made the move to purchase our first home in Commerce City. For both of us, it was the first house that felt like ours. We were dedicated to complete quite the makeover and spent nine months renovating. It would not have been possible without the help of our families. They spent countless hours, days, and weeks donating their time, giving ideas, lending tools and equipment, educating us on methods, demonstrating techniques, and ultimately guiding us on how to properly tear a house apart and to put it back together. Truly, our sanity throughout the process would not have remained intact without our families. After 4 ½ years, we celebrated the completion of our home by getting engaged in July! Our friends and families attended and shared this special moment at our newly put together house. It was a very special day, a day Gee would say was much overdue! After successfully remodeling, with very little animosity between us, we knew we were ready to tackle our next challenge and add to our lives. Six months later, we welcomed our Pitbull puppy, Sonic, into our hearts and home on January 14th. It’s been a learning experience taming a brand-new puppy, and we’ve done great working together to ensure he’s a happy pup (that doesn’t tear our shoes/couch apart). You could say the rest is history, but really…we’re just getting started.
