Adrielle and Jeff met at their first jobs after college working as Recruiters at a staffing agency. At the time dating coworkers was a big "no-no" and against company policy (whoops!). For that reason they hid their relationship for the first nine months they were together. Jeff had already been working there for about a month before Adrielle started and it was tradition for everyone to stand up and shake hands with the new person who was joining the team. Adrielle would say that it was a "love at first sight" moment for her with Jeff who looked so handsome in his work suit greeting her! After some time of casual worker interactions, friendly hello's, and the occasional happy hour eye gazing, Jeff caught wind there might be some interest and asked Adrielle out on a date about two weeks after she started. He chose to take her to a local sushi spot in Fort Lauderdale which no one knew about in an effort to keep unseen. They quickly became inseparable after that, messaging in secret at work, sneaking away on their breaks to hangout, or arriving/leaving weekend work functions in staggered times so they wouldn't get caught together! Eventually, and inevitably, they did get caught and were given a "choice" to either stop dating or move to different offices. Both said what needed to be said but ultimately knew that was no option at all, and would end up leaving the company. Adrielle went on to a career in Human Resources and Jeff shifted from recruitment and started his journey in Technology Sales. They decided to move in together officially in Summer of 2018 and the rest is history!
Adrielle and Jeff planned their first long trip, for just the two of them, to be the first week of October 2020. Best guess is that Adrielle had an inkling this trip could *possibly* be when Jeff would pop the big question, and Jeff must have realized this because he planned a surprise proposal for a few days before they left for their trip! Jeff planned for the proposal to take place on Friday, October 2nd at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach and had Adrielle's Dad join in on the plan by coordinating a "family dinner" there. Little did Adrielle know this was all a set up, and no one else was actually coming. Once Adrielle and Jeff arrived at The Breakers, they were told their table would take time to prep and Jeff prompted Adrielle to walk around and enjoy the beauty of the historic hotel. He suggested they go to an outside courtyard where he asked (what Adrielle thought was a random person but really was a coordinated family friend) to take their pictures. Adrielle was confused, as Jeff never wants pictures, but went along with it anyways. After saying let's take a "silly" picture Jeff dropped down on one knee and asked Adrielle to marry him. She said YES ! It was a beautiful moment shared intimately and it was absolutely perfect! After some celebratory oysters and drinks they were off to Adrielle's parents house for what she thought was a small celebration with the family that had fooled her. Turns out Jeff was not quite finished yet, and this was really a surprise engagement party that had been planned months in advance with family and friends from Florida and from out of town! Family and friends flew in from all over the U.S. to be there for their special day and it was truly magical and could not have turned out to be more perfect! They then went off to celebrate their engagement on their pre-planned trip and spent a week traveling through Savannah, GA and Asheville, NC for their "engagement moon". It was the perfect start to their forever!
