Adrianne and Michael have known each other for years. Michael's brother, Robert, and Adrianne's cousin, Lissette, were married in 2010. Soon after their wedding, Michael had to relocate for work to Anchorage, Alaska while Adrianne went off to school in Dallas, Texas. Love for family and life brought them both back to Houston. They shared their first kiss after an Astros game and it was all over after that. Michael fell in love with Adrianne's beautiful eyes and amazing heart. Adrianne fell in love with Michael's cooking, wavy hair and big heart. Michael knew he wanted to marry Adrianne early on in their relationship but also knew of her goals and ambitions to finish school, pass her board exam and progress her career. Soon after she accepted her job offer, Michael became very ill and was admitted to the TMC ICU, where he battled COVID-19 for an entire month. Adrianne's calls, prayers and love gave him the strength to push through. This challenge brought them closer to each other and to God. They are beyond blessed and excited to share this day with family and friends.
Michael called Adrianne and asked her to get dressed up for a brunch date at one of their favorite spots, Liberty Kitchen. After one of her favorite cocktails (an espresso martini) Mike tried to distract Adrianne by taking her shopping at the Tecovas boot store in Rice Village where they bought each other's Christmas gifts. After that, they took a nice afternoon stroll on UST campus. Michael proposed to Adrianne on December 11, 2021, at his alma mater, the University of St. Thomas, in a garden behind the Chapel of St. Basil. After the proposal, Michael had arranged an intimate gathering with close family to celebrate.
