We first met at DC's in Iowa City, when the Chicago Cubs played in the World Series. We had mutual friends and we all ended up at the same bar that night. Adrianne recognized Blake from working at the same sushi restaurant earlier that year. They sparked up a conversation and it was also Blake's birthday so the group did a round of birthday shots for Blake. By the end of the night they had each others number's saved in their phones.

Blake tried to be sneaky and planned the proposal around the day they met but also the day of his birthday. He was able to make "birthday dinner" plans at one of their favorite restaurants, Aposto. After dinner, Blake's mom handed a "gift" to Blake. He opened the gift, which was actually the ring box, got on one knee and proposed to Adrianne. She said YES! Afterwards they met up with a couple of their close friends at their favorite bar, Bell Hop, to celebrate!
